I remember before going blog hunting crazy - the fault of Trash Menagerie setting me on the road to Hype Machine - that I came across 'Gasolina' and wondered who this Fake Blood was. I was blown away by the remix and invested via iTunes to get it into the podcasts.

Next up was the appearance of Fake Blood's own 'Mars (edit)' on the Black Ghosts mixtape (funny that!) which appeared (albeit briefly early last year) on iTunes. With a bundle of Fake Blood and Crookers tracks I podcast (mix 28) at Easter (2008) more in the style or type of electro that predominates most of the 4Watt podcasts now. I've posted the Player's Player remix which works well in a mix.

Finally, my overall favourite from my fake Blood remix files is his Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip re-work of 'Look for the Woman'. This has all the classic Fake Blood breaks and bass, and the trademark 'Fake Blood' ident melded out of parts of the original vocal. Genius.

Having featured bLEUET's remixes and his guest podcast (over 700 downloads!) in my first blog I thought a return to check out his first tracks was definitely called for.

Having been electro podcasting for over a year it's interesting (for me anyway!) to look back over the influences that got me interested and motivated enough to do more than just listen.

I'm not intending to overly hero worship, just pick some significant artists, producers, DJ's or remixers and their tracks from the last 12 months, starting with...

Another mix for you, in this case from Jeremy Agnew and Ed Spencer's London-based ElectroTherapy club night. As the gentlemenen on their Facebook group page comment by way of introduction...

"ElectroTherapy is both a new night and a group we've started for everyone who loves electro music and generally getting their wiggle on... Our nights are not for profit, but all the extra money raised through the entry fee is donated to our nominated charities. The final word on this is that all proceeds from the parties go to the Take Heart India charity (Registered Charity 23582). The October night raised £1,109, with the three events in total notching up an impressive £2,385.

Excellent music, excellent friendly atmosphere and a worthy cause, so make a space in your diary for January...
